I'd not really known Mel very well before Malcs proposed to her but I remember that moment vividly. It was at Sunbury at one of the then famous New Year's parties: the music stopped and a slightly  nervous Malcom popped the question and Mel's face lit up with that wonderful smile, and answered in the affirmative. Somehow the party got even better after that. Fast forward to the day after the wedding breakfast when Mel took the opportunity when Malcs had left the table momentarily, to lean over and tell me that he'd seemed more interested in the cricket score than anything else and asked if it got any better? We laughed as I answered an emphatic no, welcome to the club!  Ren x
